Elton John - Mama Can't Buy You Love (The Complete Thom Bell Sessions)
Nikita
Elton John
(Elton John/Bernie Taupin)
Hey Nikita is it cold
In your little corner of the world
You could roll around the globe
And never find a warmer soul to know
Oh I saw you by the wall
Ten of your tin soldiers in a row
With eyes that looked like ice on fire
The human heart a captive in the snow
Chorus
Oh Nikita you will never know, anything about my home
I'll never know how good it feels to hold you
Nikita I need you so
Oh Nikita is the other side of any given line in time
Counting ten tin soldiers in a row
Oh no, Nikita you'll never know
Do you ever dream of me
Do you ever see the letters that I write
When you look up through the wire
Nikita do you count the stars at night
And if there comes a time
Guns and gates no longer hold you in
And if you're free to make a choice
Just look towards the west and find a friend
Chorus
Oh Nikita you will never know, anything about my home
I'll never know how good it feels to hold you
Nikita I need you so
Oh Nikita is the other side of any given line in time
Counting ten tin soldiers in a row
Oh no, Nikita you'l never know
repeat chorus

Rock music is good. But, let me ask you a question...is rock music alive today? I don't see good rock music being made. So, is it alive today? If it is alive, will it be alive tomorrow?
It is time for all rock music lovers to band together and start a musical revolution, and take our musical culture back. Good bye to soulless rap music, goodbye to empty modern pop. Long live Elton John's Grey Seal! Love live Rock music! Rock music must, and will live forever...let's make it that way.

Aside from guys like Springsteen, and groups like U2, ..rock is gone. No more. Our loss.

I think it is more due to the state of the entire music industry. They stonewall bands that are not part of the sound they shove down the throats of the masses.
There are so many incrdible bands and musicians still putting out music, but it is not in the mainstream, they call it "indie" music, and that is only because these bands would NEVER conform to the demands of the big name record labels.
Greed and corruption like all other areas, if they cant own you, they dont let you in

This is one of Elton's greatest songs! Its a shame we don't hear it too often. Just like the songs from the "Mad Man " album. I hardly hear them. Thank goodness I have it on 8 track...Just kidding. But I do still have the old 33 1/3 record.

For wintervannicola: I don't know if rock is dead or alive now, but it seems that most young people have, not bad taste in music, but no taste. They listen to rap music. Crap. How can anyone call it music? Watching it being performed shows why man and apes share a common ancestor.
